Hi All,
A friend in the industry was asking me today if their had been any decent .Sydney domain sales reported?
I had a chat to some Sales Guys at Net Registry and I know they sold uni.Sydney for between (10-15k) range to Sydney uni.
Anyone else know of some decent sales in the market?
Thanks
James

Are you bidding on anything, James? I am and am finding the process quite annoying. i.e. if someone does a late bid (sniping) they extend the auction by 24 hours. This could literally go on forever.

helloworld: thats how they do it in NZ for drops but i think for only 30mins each bid, and it does literally go on for EVER. i've done it a few times and lost all times, its a PAIN to do because of the timezone.

Just read on whirlpool that auction cost = annual renewal.

Is this true? Because if so...
I don't think that is true. I paid 2 year reg fees and then the Auction fee. Though the domain I did want to register/registered was higher than less generic names.

If anyone is interested in knowing concerning the pricing....

Premium domains are subjected by their popularity, and therefore whatever the initial cost is quoted for by the registrar then would be the ongoing renewal cost thereafter.

I should also make mention this excludes the ending auction cost... a process apparently handled by a third-party engaged by .AU administration.

So a generic name e.g. cars.sydney is $20,000... that would be the ongoing renewal cost for life. Talk about cheap?
