Your English is good. (That's correct)
It's all subject to context Joe, which makes the English language a bit trippy.

If you wanted to use "is good" you had to change things around a bit.

ie: ah native...sorry. So despite the fact my English is good, I guess I do not qualify.

or

ah native ... sorry. My English is good but despite that I guess I do not qualify.

Only takes very small changes to turn perfectly good English into broken English.


Still, it could have been worse. Apu from the Simpsons would of used both "is" and "being" in that sentence and probably thrown in a "very".

ie: ah native...sorry despite my English is being very good I guess I do not qualify

You will struggle to get more than 1c per word which is what I have paid writers previously who's first language was not English.
