WELL, after a HEAP of emails i've finally mutually agreed to cease a website developement agreement with a chinesse web designer, all nice and cool but a story worth telling.

I originally hired this guy to do my .xxx but when i told him it was an .xxx he dipped out, BUGGER as he had the right skills for me and its IS NOT going to be a porn site.

SO a few weeks later I decide his skills would be good for a wedding industry website and it all was going ahead until he asked me to assure him it WASN'T an adult site !!!

So i said, no, but its a wedding site and part of the site will be bucks nights and there maybe images of girls in bikinis......... maybe "on a pole"? and thats when he quit !

he told me he could risk jail if he did the website and there are thousands of IT people in prisons in china and the " network police" check everything.

So the reason for the post is if you hire someone from china it better be for a cupcake website.

tim:eek:

Also On China....

I own about 4 Chinese domain names (.com.cn) which are due for development in the next few months. Due to the nature of the sites (not xxx but have the potential to be political) I had to assure their domain name regulators that the current government, culture etc would not be "dishonored" in any way.

My luck would have it that they would probably get hacked after I bring them online

i believe in not visiting countries with the death penalty and where life is worthless, i was actually in Bali the week before the nightclub bombing so i have that boxed ticked and will never go back !

i lived with a guy in london in 1989 who had just come from a thailand jail , he was setup on drug charges and had to "pay off" the cops for @ $5k, so back in 1989 that was good money and he just RAN to the airport to get out of the country..... i lived with him for 2 years and he never touched drugs which kinda proves his story.

didn't some business men get into a heap of striff in china last year???? my advice is make sure as many people as you can contact KNOW you are going, makes it harder to get rid of you.

Going on invite from a Chinese government agency with a friend that does business in China and has a number of contacts in government. Still have to be careful of what is said and done and how one conducts oneself
