Providing demand stays the same or increases, with less coins being mined, the price should go up.

At the moment, miners receive 25 bitcoin for every block of transactions found. After the halving, it will reduce to 12.5.

Its the block not time but through averages you can extrapolate time.
Not sure on price. Demand supply would say it goes up but supply is existing and new bitcoin so the 25 to 12.5 is insignificant. However the price needs to stay above a price to be profitable to mine for the network. Enough of the network should stay online to keep the network as new machine should remain profitable and most of the network are big players.

The potential ASX use of blockchains doesn't have any benefit for Bitcoin does it?

Yes, ASX is building a new trading platform based on Bitcoin’s distributed ledger technology, the blockchain.
The outdated CHESS system is to be replaced, to enable greater protection against cyber crime, laundering, and settlement delays. Nah I think they are looking at a closed private network based on the concepts but not involving Bitcoin.

A blockchain without a currency is doomed. You cant have a private blockchain and claim its trustworthy... the CSIRO is working on similar projects but realise the importance of using a currency such as ethereum and Bitcoin as an incentive to maintain security. The budget 2016 includes this technology and CSIRO and Data61 will join forces with the Australian Treasury to explore the potential of Bitcoin technologies which include, API's for using and configuring blockchains via ethereum, STRATO etc..

I had a good night at the Bitcoin party and met some interesting people. One bloke I spoke with had over 200 bitcoin at Mt Gox when it collapsed - ouch!
There were a lot more in attendance than were registered via Meetup. Didn't see any other DNTraders. Did anyone else make it?
