The ABN for the current registrant was cancelled in 2008. Not sure how any COR wouldn't be against auDA policy.

I see this all the time when checking the whois where an abn or company registration has been cancelled years and years ago and yet the domain name continues to be renewed. I don't look into that that many names so there might be quite be a large number of these. I don't know if the registrars check these details at the time of renewal or only on the initial registration.

I have to laugh. The second name I looked into after my last post and this what I found:
ABN
Cancelled from 30 Sep 2012
Company
Status:
Deregistered
Date deregistered: 17/03/2013

Might be the catalyst for some needed reform.
1. eligibility checks for ABN's etc at renewal. Onus on registrant or registry?
2. Godaddy getting the kick up the arse they richly deserve wrt to Change of Registrants after a sale.

Perhaps Godaddy will shift their registrants to the Uniregistry system.
