auDA: be multi-stakeholder or die

I wrote the following email to the auDA board today. auDA Members want auDA to work. And for it to work it must be a truly multi-stakeholder bottom up consensus driven organisation. This is a big change from the way auDA has operated over the last two years

Josh I have been told directly by Board members many communications sent to them for the attention of the Board are just deleted. They are not read, they are not on the Agenda and they are certainly not on the Minutes!

Seriously do you think they will listen to a word you or others say or wrote/ write in submissions? When they just ignore submissions from major groups such as ACCAN, REA Group, Carsales.com etc etc people can see they have their own agenda and that is all they follow no matter what the cost or damage done to the .au namespace or other stakeholders.

Did you see any of your last letters on any auDA Agenda's or Minutes?

"2017 auDA Board Minutes and Agendas now on Website

Posted by auDA on 8 August 2017

As noted in the Board Communique last Thursday 3 August 2017 and consistent with our commitment to our members, we have reinstated the 2017 Board Minutes (up until June 2017, with subsequent Board Minutes to be posted in due course) and agendas. They can be found on
the auDA Board Meetings page."

auDA's continued negligence to provide public access to Agendas and Minutes
Where are all the missing the Agendas and Minutes auDA promised and must provide under their Government letter of endorsement plus their own signed commitment?

Evidence shows a lot of missing auDA 2016/ 2017 / 2018 Agenda's and Minutes still. This is enough for the SGM to proceed. Very clearly there is a major cover up going on and auDA is not being Accountable Nor Transparent to Government, Members or stakeholders.

What some people are wondering is it true that someone at auDA was suspended for 1 month in 2017 after the last SGM and offered some sort of massive Termination / Resignation ( whatever) payout of $1,200,000 ? ( and then later $800,000?) which both fell through for some reason?

This is what all Members should be made aware of.... without full and accurate agenda's and minutes who knows what auDA and the Board are really doing, scheming, planning or spending money on?

Is this why so many 2017 / 2018 auDA Board Agendas and Minutes are missing also?

As a monopoly highly profit focused "Not for Profit" auDA and their associated "Trustee for the auDA Foundation" have a lot more serious questions to answer.

Only an SGM and some more serious independent investigations ( not arranged or paid for by auDA) will see progress and any chance of reform, accountability and transparency improvement.

Where is the auDA Whistleblower Policy on their website and do they really protect whistleblowers?

I found where stakeholders concerns, suggestions, enquiries, emails, letters and communications to the auDA Board are on the auDA Minutes. It all falls under "OTHER BUSINESS"... which is not raised!

Notice NO AGENDAS also! https://www.auda.org.au/about-auda/our-org/board-meetings/
" 4. OTHER BUSINESS No other business was raised."
"11. OTHER BUSINESS No other business was raised"

Well, it will be telling whether they table this or not.

I notice that auDA used to always have a section in the minutes "Board Correspondence", letters would actually be tabled and the CEO would be assigned to respond. The removal of that seems to coincide with Cameron Boardman becoming CEO, the last time it was included in the minutes was Cameron's first board meeting (minutes below).

Do they have it in them to be able to change? I just don't think they believe in this principle at all.

The organisation is in dire straights. If the constitutional reform vote was tomorrow I'd vote against it, I know many others would as well. Most of the problem is the management. Maybe Mr Leptos feels he can get through the SGM and constitutional reform but I think he is deeply unpopular with the membership base, they are risking the organisation by not stepping down.
