Hi All,

Had an idea, and wanted to run it past a few of the more senior members to see if they've had any exp. or success.

Industry specific brokers.

So, for example, a business broker who specialises in real estate businesses..

Has anyone tried approaching them to act as brokers for valuable .au domains?

I'm guessing they already know the ideal customers, as the people who would be buying or selling a "real estate business" are the very same people who would be interested in buying "real estate" domain name..

I'm guessing they'd already have established marketing procedures in place, and a client list..

Has anyone used this approach?

Thx in advance.

Looks like nobody has tried it, or maybe nobody wants to talk about it.

I tried contacting an industry specific broker, and the hardest part was getting past the level 1 staff saying, No, we don't sell domains..

Eventually got thru to the guy who regularly sells 1M assets/businesses direct to industry and he was interested in what I had to say, and has asked for more detail on my industry specific store/ecom site.

I'll see where it lands, but thought I'd share this idea as I can see it working eventually.

Never tried or even contemplated it. Sounds interesting and a viable way to get in touch with premium end users though. Look forward to updates and your experience with it.

No I've never done anything like that, but it sounds like it could be a successful strategy if you found a well connected broker.
