Another Google Nail In The Coffin For SEO

we need a new google !

of course this was coming, they have led the average person down the road and they will not know that businesses are paying for everything nor will the average person care.

they have led businesses down the road and now will slaughter them with fees, although i don't like it i'd have to admit if i was them i'd do it to, geez, they created this monster and we have all be earning off it.

question is? if you are paying to get the top listings then why spend money on a good domain name? as its not going to matter to google !

Ranking ecommerce sites on the basis of of mystical rules is a ridiculous thing. For the SEO specialists, what value are they adding in the scheme of things? It is basically a drain from Google's wallet (who have probably been giving traffic away for far too long) to someone else (the SEO guy who essentially obtains the traffic via his own means and charges for it in terms of clients fees). So effectively you've got a middleman who is about as useful as domain speculators, but unlike the domain buyer they are totally expendable because Google decides their fate.

Regarding paying for a domain, I think it will come back to things like authority, memorability + others likely effect on PPC CTR. Maybe the last one is the new "SEO"-get a name that maximises CTR rather than maximising search impressions. If there is two sites targeting the term "wedding cakes" on PPC, one called weddingcakes.com.au and the other blikyscakes.net.au, I think (based on the experiments I have seen) the former is going to get a better response. The value of that is likely very significant if it enables you to out position a competing site on PPC rankings.

and further more if that particular screen shot was about a local competitive business eg: car radios / installations then it that red line would be followed by google places/local/+ so your " number one" organic ends up being listed at the bottom of the page.

THEN, try it on an iphone ! the fastest growing market for searches and your organic is screwed.

and not only that i would say 50% of people don't know these are paid adverts.

They take the cake for a website that is top heavy with ads yet they penalise website owners for the same (usually much lesser) thing. The biggest competitor in search is Google themselves.
