Hi Alex, i've always wondered about the difference between Economy and business hosting in regards to speed.

If you theoretically compared them side by side, would the same site on an Economy hosting load slower then the business hosting? Or is the benefit of business hosting really just the support and the SLA's?

Speed does come into the equation because the business hosting plans include an external MySQL server, which would relieve the load of any databases that would typically be hosted on the same shared hosting server.

However I would think most business' would purchase their business plans for the SLAs.

I recently moved a site from economy to business hosting with ventra and the speed difference was very noticeable.

For this particular site, on economy hosting the site would basically time out.

Now it's been upgraded it runs smooth.

It does have a large volume of products.

So well worth the upgrade IMO.
