10,000 Google queries by extension

A friend just pointed out this post, I thought this was interesting and worth sharing:

#MozCast Update -- Had an interesting question from +Tom Anthony - with the new TLDs rolling out, how many are currently appearing in top ranking spots? I (+Pete Meyers) took a look at page 1 Google results for 10,000 queries, which yielded 93,315 URLs, and here's how the TLDs broke down by rank/percentage.

I've included multi-part "TLDs", like .co.uk, .il.us, etc. as distinct TLDs. Please note that this is not a measure of the ranking potential of these TLDs - just of how they currently appear in SERP real estate. All searches were conducted from US IPs (so, this is not indicative of international results). The phrases in this set represent a variety of lengths and volumes, but are in English and tend to be commercial in nature. All TLDs in the list occurred at least one - some percentages were just too small to display at two decimal places.

yes and yes, i think it doesn't take a program to tell you that in australia the .com.au is not at 0.07%

having said that its interesting to see that .us is down at 7th and the states versions eg: .mi.us etc are almost worthless.

i just could not see .qld.au working
