1 letter domains?

I thought all domains were supposed to be at least 2 charchacters and then I found x.net.au

What's the deal here?

i believe there's also i.net.au

Can't remember exactly what the deal is, but it's some kind of throwback prior to auda? I'm sure someone else will elaborate/correct me.

yes they are legacy domains that were registered prior to auDA coming in and running the joint.

There will be a release of single character domains soon but not sure how soon.
