This may be of interest to some. It's an email I received from Jeffalytics about a forthcoming change to Google Analytics. It appears to be connected to the GDPR changes coming into effect in the EU, but will affect all websites that use Google Analytics...

Here's the link to the video mentioned in the email. Or skip to the part where he tells you how to fix it.

Hey Ashley,

Let me cut to the chase: If you value your ability to do real, historical analysis in Google Analytics: You will want to listen up!

Your Google Analytics advanced segments for historical data are going away at the end of this month, unless...

One of the updates Google Analytics made concerning GDPR is a setting that allows you to manage how long you keep your user data on Google's servers. It's called data retention controls.

Your choice of the data retention setting has the potential to kill the "Analytics" part of your Google Analytics account...

UNLESS YOU TAKE ACTION.

In today's post and video over at Jeffalytics, I share how to fix the problem. It's a two-minute fix. But you have to take action.

PLEASE, watch today's video and post. Then after you change your data retention setting, leave a comment on our post or YouTube channel letting me know you took action.

And spread the word. Please share this week's video and post with any other GA users, so they don't lose their valuable historical data!

Do it now.
