Not that I am one to encourage spam but expiry notices should be sent out to registrant, admin and technical contacts for domains. Also when registering a domain name perhaps registrars should encourage registrants to whitelist their url/email so that notifications are not caught in spam filters.

Yes. Lets increase Auspost profits more by sending out 3 million letters at a cost of $2 per letter. Sounds like a great idea. Great way to keep the price of domains down.
I think sending letters by post would be a massive waste of money. It seems like a very inefficient way to deliver pending expiry notices.

I thought the idea would be stupid enough to warrant auDA implementing it. You know we have no real say, so I figure - why not give them an idea so stupid and opposed to good sense that they may include us. LOL

Erhan, Tim, Simon and other elected and non elected auDA Board members can you propose this 60 day Grace period to the auDA Board for implementation and when?

How about some updates on the suggestion list please from auDA, the auDA Board or yourselves please?

1. FREE COR ( Change of Registrant) - remaining registration period is transferred to the new registrant

2. Any updates at all on the list above or is auDA and the board ignoring the need for improvement we had all been promised with the change in CEO, Board and auDA staff etc?

auDA and the auDA Board needs to be far more proactive and transparent working on issues such as these and keeping people updated on a more regular basis.

People are highly skeptical the interest's and rights of Australian Domain Name Registrants & Consumers ( DEMAND) are being looked after properly.. this concern has been well documented for many years by hundreds of people and improvement was promised by auDA and the auDA Board but it seems to be worse than ever
......what we have seen is important deleted pages all off the auDA website, lack of information on meeting notes, disclosures, silence on which of these are being worked on or even considered, Non tendering for Wholesale Registry , questionable processes of placement of people into auDA Board positions and jobs etc

Tim Seriously? ... Perhaps it is time to run since things are not improving as promised.

The issue is like Ned I do not want to be muted by questionable rules as others seem to have been once elected... auDA should be allowing elected Board members and staff to engage people and forums... .......FREE SPEECH, IDEAS, SUGGESTIONS FOR IMPROVEMENT AND TRANSPARENCY.

auDA themselves seem to not even be active on this important industry forum dntrade.com.au. Why not? Why not seriously get involved here and offer both answers and also some evidence of improvement or at least consideration of the feedback and forum topics.

The fact is auDA staff and the full auDA Board would learn a lot be being more engaged on this forum. They should have an area to post their updates, press releases etc.

Many at auDA do not even have extensive domain name experience, very few have experince in the global domain name market, aftermarket etc. Do they know about DNjournal, Sedo etc. What are they doing to promote investment and success in the .com.au market and Australian business etc?

"you can lead a horse to water........"
a domain name is a business asset, if you are a business person and to silly to not know where your assets are then thats your problem.
you don't leave your keys in the truck, you lock the shop door when leaving, and you RE-ORDER stock ! , its pretty easy.

perhaps it is?

Did you, Erhan and Simon all get muted once you where elected? Who is telling you all to not speak out now when you know things are wrong?

This seems to be a serious problem with how auDA does things.... Before being elected you all spoke up but after being elected it is mostly silence.

This is the problem. Things are not transparent, open and not improving at all.... things have gone backwards at auDA when it comes to the rights of existing Domain Name Registrants, transparency and good governance.

What happened to the auDA Foundation, membership audits etc? Many things are not being disclosed as they should be... in fact most information and meeting notes are being deleted which was once on the auDA website!

Supply has seemingly stacked both Supply and Demand auDA memberships, voting, surveys on the proposed additional competing .au extension, Policy, seemingly tendering / non tendering procedures etc etc etc

UK has a 90 day renewal grace period. Australia needs to change to 60 or 90 day also instead of the current 30 days.

This change in no way deters from Australian Domain Name Policy or hurts registrant benefits. It will in fact be innovative and an enhancement for Australian Domain Name Consumers.

Tim, Erhan, Simon.. Please put forward this suggestion and advise an update from auDA or the board asap.. perhaps even suggest auDA staff and all auDA Board members join DNtrade and starts to more actively engage people more fully and with increased transparency on public forums.

UK STATS - After 4 years where is the rush and high demand for the additional .uk extension.. It has failed. .CO.UK remains the clear preference by massive % difference and demand https://www.nominet.uk/news/reports-statistics/uk-register-statistics-2017/

I wonder if auDA and the Board ever read the list of suggestions.

It could have saved auDA a lot of auDA money being wasted on mistakes, and a lot of damage which has been done.

It also would have helped people, auDA, Government and Board focus less on personalities/ fighting and instead focus on real solutions which could benefit the .au namespace.
