I think there probably is a shift away from ntlds but don't know to what extent. The construction of the poll is poor. The new tld haters will want to vote option 3 or 4 even though the poll is only aimed at ntld investors. It needs an option like "I do not invest in ntlds" so that the poll applies to all those reading it, that would help to prevent bad data.

I don't think it is a sudden concern, he has been negative on them for several years. I'm guessing he has lost a fair bit of money on ntlds in past, especially .mobi.

I'm not fussed though, I love learning all the time about domaining, and I encourage the conversations where ever they are.

Amazing how much can change in 2 months, as of now I'd say the ntlds are in meltdown, every 2nd one seems to be dropping 25%-40% in volume. The ones that offered very low prices are doing far worse than that.
