i've now moved everything i needed to away from hostgator after over 8 years with them, you truly onlt get to see someones service level once you start moving things away, even though i had 3 accounts they got less friendly from the beginning even though they thought i was keeping my other accounts?
anyway, along the way a few things popped up which you should check if you are with them.
they say they backup but there is no schedule so it could be sunday this week and tuesday the next which makes it hard to time your own backups.
the backup overwrites the current backup so there is no past backup kept thus they can easily backup a hacked site and that is the only thing they have to restore for you.
if you have a reseller account and its 100gig across 50 domain names they will only backup 20gig for that "account" so 80gig of your account doesn't get backed up at all, i personally didn't have a problem with that but i was talking to a web person yesterday who has also moved away because he got caught out big time, i got luck i guess.
hostgator sold out in may 2016 https://www.shoutmeloud.com/hostgator-sold-endurance-endurance-group.html , which funnily is the time i started my move to netvirtue so that may explain the lack of service?
So anyway, just check your backup status, as things are changed/changed at hostgator
