Highest bid ever on a .com.au domain

most likely someone bidding for their own domain. lol

I would suspect that too as the domain was only listed 25 Apr 2010.

Adding to that, as the domain is far from being 'premium' its very hard to believe.

Don't think so - of course you can never say for absolutely certain but I can't see the reason for someone to do that...

We'll be keeping an eye on the bidder for any other unusual activity but unless someone complains I guess we'll assume it's legit.

Well, myshow.com.au seems to be a functioning site, and the .net and .com are apparently included, and there's claim of TM. But the first sentence is a bit off.

One of the most popular video sharing websites in the world. The web site is a wonderful medium for viewing and uploading videos on the web. Whether its a comic video, animation, business/training, news & politics, pets and animals, or religion, this website sets you free to view and upload videos for virtually all categories and themes listed on it.
Serious Offers will only be considered.
Trademarked in Australia and the US (myshow wording)
Sale includes myshow.net an myshow.com.

I think definately something off .... if they were "one of the most popular video sharing websites in the world", then why is the domain name they claim they own myshow.com parked? And why if it was one of the most popular would they not advertise it on an international/US site with the .com.au as an addon rather than the other way around.

If it looks like a fish, and smells like a fish, it must be a particularly fishy fish!

Well, if you go through the TM's, Landmark Productions or something like that filed for a TM for myshow etc, and this guy (myshow.com.au) seemed to have opposed the filing, with the application being withdrawn in the end. So there's more to this.

Dunno about the half-million bid though.

checking alexa.com it appears not to be really high traffic site as claimed either.
