Came across this from VeriSign and thought it worth sharing. I noticed AU is sitting at number 9 in the ccTLDs, not bad for a small country.

"Today, we released the latest issue of the Domain Name Industry Brief, which showed that the internet grew by approximately 12 million domain names in the first quarter of 2016, and closed with a base of 326.4 million domain names across all top-level domains (TLDs). This is a 3.8 percent increase over the fourth quarter of 2015."

Probably more like 7th once you discount .tk and .eu. Another reason why we don't need .au,. .Com.Au is possibly the most successful country code once the small population is factored in, that is due to the foundations laid many years ago and not AUDA. We don't need to follow the mistakes of others.
