Why Don't Buyers Change Nameservers?

I'd say a pretty high % never get used. I know someone who bought a domain for $35,000 last year, nothing has been done with it other getting it transferred. Pretty unlikely a site will ever materialise on it, some people buy domains and then just put it on the back burner forever.

Maybe they just don't understand the role and importance of name servers.

When I complete a sale, I send the new registrant a screenshot of new WhoIs.

I also tell them to log into their new account (generally at Drop or TPP Wholesale), and change the nameservers to their own requirements. Or alternatively, they can transfer the domain out to their registrar of choice for free (and do the nameservers there).

So I do tell them.

The example domains I gave have so far earned me some decent parking revenue this month!

Paul, I presume you are talking dot com domains as well as .au?
