anyone using this?
i've basically been pushed out of elance and now forced to use upwork as they will be closing elance next year.
but i find it hard to navigate, annoying.
anyone having a "great time" using it ?

Agreed - annoying layout. A friend of mine has had a few jobs but has had to sacrifice his hourly rate in order to build his portfolio on the site.

I haven't been kicked across to Upwork yet. The Elance system is still working as normal but with "An Upwork Company" text next to the Elance logo.

I'm guessing I'll be moved across soon enough...

you get moved, but your "past cred" doesn't come with you, so you look like a newbie, i've contacted them and they said it will eventually be transferred.
i find my "past cred" helps me get better people, as they know i am "safe" as many freelances i've talked to get ripped off and not paid out.

so my 72% success rate on posting jobs, hiring and completing + my freelancers feedback is important to me gaining better skilled people, + on elance they can see my $ spent so far.

this doesn't mean i pay more for each job, it just shows i pay the invoices.

thats the reality and its not going to change, the freelance market just shifts between countries as the price goes up somewhere it moves to the next country.
i was paying a vietnam guy on average $200 USD a week which is LOADS of money and he went and put his price rate up 5 times that !!! , so i just moved to someone else, my suggestion is forget about programming and change your business to "project management" and use the skills to check the job but use the freelancers to do it.
