Seems you 100% need to use KW data, Paid Search data and also histroic data now for analysis.

Well the issue is when you have SSL on public or signed in search.

what happens is all keyword research data from organic search will show up in Google Analytic's as Not provided.

The funny thing is that Any paid search data you have Google has not implemented SSL onto paid search data. So basically their claim is that it is to protect users. What is to say you are looking to gather information you just spend high amounts on long tail/ branded variations to collect data? Or use SEM scraping tools.

In the end of the day these changes are bad for SEO. They are VERY bad for Small Business owners who only have money to invest into SEO and no budget for PPC.

Big companies will be smart enough to find work arounds.

So my feeling is that they are probably sending a lot more more data about the client across the transaction than just the search term.

Oh, and then of course there is the need to protect peoples data...

Any company needs to make money for it's shareholders, so PPC will continue to be a the focus.
