Alternatives To Domain Tools?

I often want to run a reverse whois lookup on different competitors to see who owns what domains. However Domain Tools who offer this feature is getting quite expensive given they charge like $50 - $200 per report in most cases.

Is there a cheaper alternative?

Hi Chris,

In the marketplace, you have DT and IPNeighborhood (which is run by my company). As you'll see, IPNeighborhood is more affordable, with a Day pass at $4.95 and memberships from $19.95. No extra charges.

If you would like to find out "who owns what", then there are two tools in IPNeighborhood.com that will help.

1. Domain History. Just type in a domain, then you can click on company name, persons name or email and search.

2. IP Intelligence. That will enable you to type in a domain or IP and browse through the IP address space. That way you can see what other domains are hosted on their servers.

Just to be clear, there are no hidden or extra charges, like running reports.

If you have any questions feel free to PM me.

Kind regards,

Simon

Hi Simon, with IPNeighborhood would it still find domains from the owners if they are not hosted on the same IP address space?

Yes - absolutely. There are many different tools you can use to do that. For example, if you knew another domain or the company name or email address, you can type that in and get a list of domains they own.

Alternatively, you could use the Auction Intelligence tool, do a search using their name/company name/email and see if they have bought names over the past few years. This is a seriously good tool for domain brokers/sellers as you find out who is buying in your niche and approach them directly.

Hope this answers your question.

Kind regards,

Simon
