The "success" part for new tlds will be selling them to domainers, rather than domainers doing well from buy them. That is how it has always been in the past.

I haven't done that well with 'new extensions' in the past. Made a few sales but nothing to set the world on fire.

I didn't buy a lot of these domains, so my exposure was limited.

I think in the future I would buy even less and be far more discerning.

I'll probably only bother with 3 or so of the new extensions, and only a few domains in each.
