hi, its friday 8pm and i think i am now just sobering up ! withthe help of a beer ! LOL
last nights meetup was GREAT and i recommend it to anyone, however do not do what i did........
we all chatted until the bar closed so a few of us went to the next bar until it closed..... by the time i got to flinders street the trains had all stopped?
i asked a cabbie how much to get home? $150 ++ , i went to a hotel i know in the cbd and they wanted $250 so i went back to the cab and said "how much to the casino" ? $10 ... well take me there ! and then i was happy, the plan was to watch footy in the sports bar till dawn and catch the first train home, but my staminar was starting to fade so as all good geminis do they start to chat to random people to stay wake, worked well, got into a bunch of "BLOKEY BLOKES" and THEN ! the bar closed !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yes, you can gamble all night but the bars shut down !!!!!!!!!!!! what a stupid system ! there wasn't even an option to move to a different bar? i understand they need to clean things but they could rotate the closure ( lets not talk about silly stuff like "the law" etc )
any way my group of new found friends of BLOKES of course left becuase "no beer, on the point of potential SLEEP i had to revive myself so i said hello to the couple next to me
She was keen to have a chat , he wasn't, turns out they were on their 3rd "RSVP" date, during the conversation she details to me INFRONT of him that she really isn't keen on him !! LOL, its now 4am, he says " i'm going out for a smoke do you want to come? " to her, she says yeh, .......... they never came back LOL
i don't gamble so i'm stuck in this alley of poker machines, no bar open and no trains running, so i head off to McDonalds in the city where i meet a girl chomping on a quarter pounder and her drunk slumped friend next to her, we had a good ol chat as her friend spusss ( how do you spell that? ) into the gutter and i here the sound of a train YIPPEE, bye bye
onto the train, need to stay awake, start talking to an indian guy @ 45 about africa as he use to live in uganda and i have been there, that gets me to my railway station still awake, no @ 6.30am, no cabs so i start to walk home, 4.4klms and no cabs, no cabs ( phone a cab ! doesn't work like that down here, they want your address otherwise you get put on hold for hours !!!! stupid )
arrive home 7.30am, helena NOT happy, slept ALL day.
can't wait for brissie !

everyone asked me how i ended up at the meeting and i am sure Chris would agree, and i mentioned DNT alot so we might pick up some new members, maybe there is some cross pollinisation that could go on their as this group have a wealth of knowledge.
