Why would a client who is not happy with you listen to any recommendation/referral you make ?

Nevermind the word/s recommend/refer... Once you give them their files and advise them to look for another service provider they're no longer your problem.

You would be surprised people think you will do work for free if they are a big client.

Why would a client who is not happy with you listen to any recommendation/referral you make ?

They are not always unhappy. From my experience the dev/designer/hosting company can often be the one who isn't happy with the arrangement

So If the client lacks technical know how then they will usually appreciate a referral
