Interested to hear if anyone has been experimenting with Pinterest? Seems to really be gaining momentum, especially with 25-35 y.o women from what I've seen.

Some stats from Experian eariler in the month:

With pickup from a range of sites and retweets on Twitter, Pinterest has jumped up the ranks for a new Australian high, ranking 25th most popular site in the Social Networking and Forums category last week, almost doubling the amount of weekly Visits from Australians in twelve weeks, from 186,000 Total Visits three months ago to 359,000 Total Visits last week.

I haven't tried it yet. I just requested an invite. I read a lot of good reviews about Pinterest and I'm really excited to try it.

Yeah been using it for around 9 months for clients in the Fashion niche, see good traffic from their.

But to be honest I think it is a lot of hype over it recently, you really need to be creative too see some good use from it from a niche like insurance.

Also you need to be aware of the fact any image you upload to the site is the property of Pinterest i.e they can on sell it according to their Terms or service.

You can also just apply and this is the first email you get:

Thanks for joining the Pinterest waiting list. We'll be sure to send you an invite soon.

And then I got my invite email later the same day.

Interestingly, I just got this email from HubSpot:

Just last week, Pinterest reached 11 Million monthly unique visits. For many companies, it's driving more referral traffic
than Twitter and Google+. That growth is faster than any standalone site - ever.

I got invited the same day as well. Haven't posted anything to it because not sure how it will fit in with the bigger picture for me just yet.

Say I happened to have a generic keyword Pinterest name... how would I go about selling it? Or twitter handle etc.

james is RIGHT, my wife takes great photos of the kids and got an email that said you could WIN a nikon to upload a photo to the competition ( i don't need to mention which one as they are almost all the same)

the terms were that that image then becme the property of the organisation

now i have to say my kids are beautiful ( must take after their mum ! ) but what the terms ment is i could one day be driving down the road ....having NOT won the nikon camera.... and see my kids on a billboard !!!

Lawyers say be careful:

"Online brands that encourage the use of Pinterest can apply a 'pin it' button to websites to allow users to pin products. Applying a 'pin it' button to a photograph would (arguably) provide users with implied consent to publish the photograph to Pinterest. This would considerably reduce the risk of copyright infringement for users who pin the photographs, but companies will need to be sure they have ownership (or suitable licence rights) in any photographs to which they apply the 'pin it' button."

they were trying to implement areas to assist this such as: http://marketingland.com/pinterest-...fighting-copyright-with-opt-out-meta-tag-6461

But yes it can be some what risky from a legal view point, hence why you need to be careful with the images you push live in my eyes.
