What's new

how do I monetise my domains?

Hi, I'm hoping to get some advice on the best way to monetise domains that are not yet being used for live web sites.

I have around 50 domains.

While I am a newbie to domain monetisation I am not a newbie to web site operation and have my own dedicated server.

What are my options to generate some income from my domains?

It really depends on the type of domains you have and what niches they are in. Some will be better suited to adsense, some will be better suited to direct advertising and some will be better suited to lead generation.

I have a mix of all three, and they look something like this:

  • General information domains - adsense
  • Premium information & geo domains - mix of adsense and direct advertising
  • Specific products (finance & insurance especially) domains - lead generation
There are lots of options, and which works best really depends on the type of domain.

Thanks for the feedback guys - sorry I haven't been back earlier, I missed the email letting me know there had been replies!

re minisites - could I just use something like Wordpress?

I will also register with Rook Media and see what they have to offer.

GO wordpress, i've done joomla and wordpress is FARRRRR easier.

"minisite" i call them "microsites" but no big deal, basically its a ONE page site that may link to a "mothership" site, its a leads generation page.

here's my examples:

www.newcastlewatercoolers dot com.au

and links to

www.filteredfresh dot com.au , the mother ship

and then you have landing pages

www.filteredfresh dot com.au/newcastle

(please do not critique these pages as they are in production right now)

hope that helps?

bodis.com is pretty good. far better than sedo for monetisation now and also has a direct form for buyers to contact you if you are eligible to sell

hi, i went to the website and i've seen a bunch of them before, what really BUGS me about a website is when it doesn't give you all the info unless you sign up...... just tell me the bottom line !!!! is my motto.

are the ads on the parked domain going to be valid? whats my % cut? , how can i check i'm not getting riped off?

the support page gives me nothing as well.

i don't think i will be using them
