You seem impatient :( Investing just a few dollars or a bit of time and polishing the site up would increase the value immensily.

What you have at the moment is pretty average.....having a nice polished site would cost little more, but greatly enhance the chance of a "good payoff".

And i do think your financial claims are very optomistic to say the least.

I agree
Logo is lousy
Site is average at present needs a bit of work
Name is Great and deserves Better, sooner rather than later.
Any more effort now will pay off with sale

Awesome work with the site setup and idea, but I think with big ticket purchases like this people will go for a reputable company. So you might need to think of ways to add some kind of authenticity to your site. At the moment it seems a bit "who is this company"?

Two main things that dishearten me as a "consumer" are:

  • The logo looks dodgy!
  • In the footer it just says "HDTV © 2011" - when was the last time you saw something like this on other ecommerce sites? What's the business name? Who are you?

Again though, nice work setting it all up. Design is starting to come together.

Site misses the mark completely, has everything that doesn't matter and nothing that does (revenue). For those who think this is a good site if that were the case it wouldn't be at $2.

IMO, the values written in your Flippa will turn away many seasoned IM'ers who can see through them. Listed in google for $200?

If you read the comments this was supposed to say listed in google under relevant brand name keywords etc.
However this can not be changed once the auction has had a bid.

This Auction has got more interest then my last auction.
As the first post suggest, I am trying to gauge the start up value and domain value and make no secret this is a start up
I am well aware what hdtv.com sold for,Thanks for your advice.

we'll see what happens when it's closer to the end of the auction...

thanks for the feedback

$250.

That wouldn't even cover the time you've spent on the site, let alone the domain and 1800 number etc.

You need to reassess the way you're going to make money online, because right now your ideas about what things are worth are completely out of whack.

Hopefully you can now see that valuing the domain at $8,500 and the Google listing at $200 was wide of the mark. I notice that another auction listing of yours valued an "active forum" at $2,000 despite the forum being 95% spam.

The sooner you learn to value things properly, the more chance you have in succeeding in this game.

You can either take this post as the honest and sincere advice that it is, or you can ignore / argue it and continue trying to make money in the same way. It's up to you...

Is there a reason you like belittling people and talking down others websites aprev?

The other site is first page of google for "investment property forum"

and has had high rankings for several years, for several keywords and earned a consistent $295 a month for years, and 10k a property here and there.
investment property ranks in the top 200.

as for hdtv .au sites don't do well on flippa the whole exercise was a test

just because I only have 3 sales attempts on flippa doesn't mean I haven't sold hundreds of sites.

I have admitted I am new to the .au arena

If your going to give advice be a bit more kinder with your words

If you make people feel stupid they are not going to listen to you even if you are trying to help.

I still believe that hdtv.net.au the domain alone is worth more then what the bid got to on flippa becuase I own that domain and will not let it go under my

X,xxx

However I might be interested in a trade as I said I don't have time to run an eCommerce site.

xwdomains, Shane gave you some great advice and I think you should take heed of it. Obviously it's up to you to take it but his advice was sound and I believe worth listening to.

The last piece of advice might of been friendly however Shane has been extremely rude and unprofessional throughout this whole process

oh those comments have magically Disappeared here is the jist of it

your a moron if this is how you appraise domains that name aint worth anything

Not " I don't think your domain is worth anything because it's .net.au etc"

your sites crap no one will buy from this site

Not" Your sites not to bad However it would really look much better with a professorial logo maybe a premuim opencart template phone number Address"

end your auction early as it has only had 1 bid of $2

not to mention rubbishing the site on flippa..

anyone who has ever sold on flippa knows that the majority of the bids come in the last 2hours.

anyway I am done with this forum cya's
