just noticed this one on auction at sedo , first of all good luck to seller , could be someone here ? 2 days to go $550 u.s

Although i did click on the auction link and could see no reference to needing a abn or needing to be an aussie to buy the name

This stuff happens with .tv all the etime. especially the premium names that sometimes cost $ u.s 1,000+ to reg each year

Sedo need to have a disclaimer for aussie names or it will hurt our industry

your thoughts ?

I don't think it's sedo's problem.

If I have a V8 Car for sale and a P plater wants to buy it I don't need to give them a disclaimer to say they can't drive it without the proper licence.

I think it's a case of buyers need to investigate all things prior to purchase.

bad sale = bad publicity

most cases you can just buy a .com .in and so on, but certain extensions have restrictions, if sedo sells them it wouldn't hurt to let buyers know of any restrictions , good sales stories add up to good publicity, as i say this stuff is happening with .tv premiums and gurting that extension ,

a P plater can still buy a v8 , he just cant drive it on the road as far as i know

As long as more and more people are aware you can buy and sell .au domains then we'll all benefit!

A non Aus resident can purchase a pre-owned .com.au too, they will just have issues when trying to complete the transfer.

It's really not sedo's issue. Yeah it would be fine if they did advise the buyers with a buyer beware, but it's really up to then if they choose not too.

And anyone that came screaming for a refund would be shown the door.
