I see no reason to close the thread. By posting in 'Site Review' you asked the community for feedback.

We don't intervene simply because you don't agree with an opinion, especially when you have asked for it.

Hi Mate,

Interesting site. I have to agree with some of these guys, it's quite a 1990's design. Some things I'd fix:

  • Change that hideous background please. Even a smooth gradient is ok
  • Remove the orange texture from the menu header
  • Make menu items largers
  • Change the MS Paint style header image
  • Some of your images just don't load
  • Content needs a bit of polishing

Furthermore the site is terribly slow! Maybe look into some newer hosting or optimise the images a bit more. Also needs some GOOD SEO done.

Good luck mate getting it all working! Look forward to seeing it once you're finished :)

Corey, you have already asked once, and imo you were given a perfectly reasonable response by FPR (he was in the chair yesterday).

I agree with him totally. It also doesn't help matters if you "demand" something.

We will never accept malicious or untrue posts; but nor will we censor posts that are opinions reasonably held. It is a forum for comments
and opinions after all - whether we like them or not. And you did invite comment.

Cheers, Ned (Admin)

Corey you should be happy so many are willing to share their views and advice, you would not be the first person that has had negative reviews for a website

I would be wondering why my developer 'loves it' in one post then 'openly' agrees it not too good in another post ??

Take it on board learn and move on to better things, in fact you can do your own wordpress minisites yourself

As previously stated ...........good luck

Yes fair enough comments ned, but the THREAD and Section is about Development > Web Development > Site Review NOT ccTLD choice.
I And corey can handle comments about the DESIGN (Her CHOICE BTW) and the site in general, But Why all the negativity about .in domains. especially when it is a SITE REVIEW not a Domain Appraisal/ccTLD Merit Discussion.

A domain is an integral part of any website though, so I see no problem in including the domain extension as part of website comments.

Just looking at the site and agree on the design (terrible). Would be starting again with that.

The domain name is part of the site so of course discussion of it is relevant.

There is negativity on .in because it makes no sense for the site. It is not a domain hack, the site has nothing to do with India, so why use .in?

There's no negativity about .in domains. The question was simply why .in was used for this particular website.

The keyword gets zero searches in India, and the content appears to be no more relevant to India than it would be for the rest of the world, so as part of my review I questioned why use .in when the .net and .org were both available.

Every .com.au & net.au site in existence are NOT automatically about Australia
Every .Co.uk / .de / .us / .tv / .cc et al are not automatically about the respective country.

The site in question is a personal little site about a cute little pup that Corey recently got as a companion pet and the name was available for only a few Indian Rupees. So what exactly is the problem?

So it was about cost then.

Why couldn't Corey have just said that in the first place?

I was just in the process of responding Djuqa, but you edited your post.

The majority of the comments on here are opinions about the site. Yes there are some comments about the extension; but surely that is no big deal? I would have thought that is part and parcel of reviewing a site?

e.g. some people may say "nice site, but why did you choose .com instead of .com.au?" Or similar.

Anyway, there is a new thread on Indian domain names that Corey started. http://www.dntrade.com.au/indian-domain-names-t3890.html?t=3890

I also did one myself ages ago. http://www.dntrade.com.au/indian-domainers-forum-t3159.html?t=3159&highlight=Indian

P.S. By the way Djuqa, I did have a laugh over your new signature block! :)

WHY should she?
And saving a couple dollars is the main criteria MOST dnTRADERS do when selecting registrars so why not when buying other names.

And Ned I love my New Signature as Well!

Selecting a registrar is waaaay different to selecting a domain extension.

It's like me trying to pick which dealer is going to offer me the best deal on a new Mercedes, and then thinking "hey, I can just buy a Hyundai for way less!"

Very different...
