OMG I HAVE TO HAVE ONE.. really I do - I have the livescribe pen and it's simply fantastic for work. I wanted a larger wacom tablet but didn't use it enough to justify, and only recently parted with my old wacom.

But THIS ROCKS.. I love it. I like the livescribe for what it does but this takes it to a new level by making it a vector suitable for drawing.

Thank you for this exciting link.. It will be available in October for around 220.00 - just in time for me to justify myself something for Christmas.

I love my pens. :) I use them quite a lot - especially livescribe.

hahaha I know, it's one of those 'shut up and take my money' moments! I've already justified to my wife that I need it for Christmas ;)

I haven't tried the livescribe before, but it sounds interesting too.

Let me tell you quickly about the features of livescribe -
Great for the person who loves to have lots and lots of pieces of paper to write things on, and can't find them later.
Has incredibly clever way to search through my ramblings and read the words - it has excellent ocr recognition of text.
Users a gps mapping method of writing - so pen is connected to a journal (which you tap on a special tab to assign to pen first)
Can turn pictures into pngs, is great for conferences and meetings with recording options, and the bookmarking important points is fantastic.
I use it every day, and have 1/2 dozen books from day notes, through to blogs, personal and writing.
It can be shared online in various methods and has usb type storage.

Down side - Pen data can't be transferred to another pen if you want to upgrade.

For me, it has saved me on many occasions as I can find most of what i've written in the last 2.5 years of owing one.

It has an export app you can purchase for 35.00 or something like that - to export text to word.

This wacom pen just brings out the creativity I think so to own both of them is a must.

The livescribe pen received a multi multi million seed funding or grant a few years ago and it has grown from strength to strength. I bought mine in the US before it came out here.

The newer ones a more slick than mine but I adore Penny (that's her name) and we are always together when we go out.

Thanks for that write up Nina, it certainly does sound like a life saver - I am always looking for the notes I took from one meeting or another so will take a closer look at livescribe. Not too expensive either which is nice.
