Hey guys, I guess you know what this is about :D

In order for my facebook page to become permanent, I need 25 likes. I will be giving away a free custom designed website + domain (worth $599) to a random person who likes the facebook page too!

Also mate, just wanted to make a note; I have seen designers be falsely desecrated as "hackers", "scammers", "cheats", etc; just because their website was built on a pre-made wordpress/site theme. Just something to watch out for :)

I also noticed that - they all appear to be themes. I don't think there is a problem with this as long as it is conveyed to the client.

Thanks for the likes guys! Very very much appreciated. The majority of the websites work with themes, some modified completely, some hardly modified.

A million dollar company might not go for it, but a real estate company, a restaurant, a small business might be looking for this kind of setup seeing as it can result in extremely low costs for the client :)

I suppose even though anyone can buy a theme not everyone knows how to edit them or create their own graphics to personalise. I've considered doing something similar in the past - just interested, how do you pitch it to your clients? Do you mention they are templates, pick one with them or just go ahead and pick one that you think suits the brief you are given?

I ask them to describe the way they want their website to be, what it would look like and what it needs to contain.

I then find an existing template or ask a befriended designer and spend a good amount of hours converting/editing/rebuilding it until it matches my client's needs.

Wordpress is explained, and if the client is interested in manually updating the website, I guide them through every single option. So far, they are not interested in doing anything themselves though, I get an e-mail (+attachments) with what needs to be done, I resize and edit pictures and do some updates.

I always figured everyone would want to do everything themselves, but I guess I was very wrong :)

Yes, plus the designer's name, unless the designer is a friend and does not want to take credit because I hired him basically.
