.net.au domain names

Just wondering if there is any value in developing or flipping .net.au domain names, especially if they have strong keywords attached to them? I am contemplating buying a couple and not sure whether I should.

Regards,

Jason

If its your only option, there could be some merit.

What I hate is to have developed a .net.au, then the .com.au guy takes all the credit and free typo traffic. I'm sure whirlpool.com.au probably gets a bucketload of free traffic lol

.com.au will always rank more effective in serps, but don't rule out .net.au still can work well...Look at "Life Insurance" on AU serps.

another quick question if I may, if I have the option of registering a .net.au domain name with two strong keywords or a .com.au domain but with a hyphen in between two strong keywords....what would be the preference?

Once again all your help and guidance is very much appreciated.

Well I hope they are worth something as I have just bought:

girlsgames.net.au
boysgames.net.au
boygames.net.au

Seeing that games online are huge, certainly hope I can do something with them....gulp.

If you're talking hand reg; and you were going to develop a site; why not get both? Could help with SEO. Cost is negligible.

If it were buying a secondary market domain, and price is an issue, I would go for the .net.au rather than a hyphen.

IMHO.

This has been the topic of discussion here many times over.. jury is still out for many, but even the best names only sell for a fraction of .com.au

If the .com.au is taken - and is probably never going to be available (or if it is, it will be at an exorbitant price), then buying .net.au domains is the next best option.

Invariably you will get them a lot, lot cheaper too. ;)

I have 4 category killer .net.au names that I have put up for sale today. http://www.dntrade.com.au/category-killer-net-aus-t3234.html?p=21631#post21631

Can you imagine what you would have to pay for these if they were .com.au?

mechanics.net.au

carwash.net.au

cosmetics.net.au

vodka.net.au
