Just came across SEScout through the review on Web AppStorm. I'm trying it out now. Works really well though the pricing seems a bit high for my liking. I guess it's worth it if it would help you make money etc

Is that a 100 a month? Or 100 once off? if its 100 once off that is hell cheap...

I use Raven Tools $100/month, SEO MOZ pro tools $100/month (lowest) WEB CEO (now not working) and a few other tools...

1000 keywords is not many but...

Been using SEScout for around 3 months now. great service and I never open up Market Samurai anymore.

they do run into problems once in a while, especially wth .com.au rankings. But now it has certainly stabilized and outputting more accurate rankings..

P.S. Although we are an obvious competitor to rank tracker, there are a few very active complaints about the software that you should be aware of (these come directly from customers of ours that have transitioned straight from their software).

When you initially purchase rank tracker, you are paying for the actual software and a 6 month "trial" subscription to the Rank Tracker Live! Plan.

What they don't tell you is that the software DOES NOT FUNCTION without an active subscription to the Rank Tracker Live! Plan. So essentially you are paying $99 for the first 6 months of usage and once that expires, you are left with worthless non-functioning software, unless you extend your subscription to the Rank Tracker Live! Plan.

Let's break down the cost.

Initial purchase $249!
6 months later you must renew the cost of the Rank Tracker Live! Plan at a minimum cost of $6.95 per month if you own "professional" and $19.95 if you are "enterprise"!

Total cost of the cheapest rank tracker package for a year = $290, this doesn't even bring into account the fact that you will almost certainly need proxies if you have a large enough variety of keywords and domains, and the fact that you need to manually install the software and have the computer actually running to retrieve any results.

Again, clearly a biased opinion, but something that a number of our customers have brought up in the past when making the conversion from rank tracker to SEscout.

But Market Samurai is more so a competitive analysis tool,

This tool seems to be more keyword tracking?

Or do they scrape top 20 result pages for keywords and pull competitive information?

I still use MS for kw analysise and competition, just not for rank tracking anymore (which is what I used previous to track my rankings).

The tool is way to unstable to track rankings, but for the price you can not worry hehe =)

Thanks for joining up. One issue that I have is the cost. Free to $15 a month is a fairly hefty jump. The other thing is that tracking 50 keywords for $15 is not worth it IMHO. Maybe 250 or 1000. The costs of checking a keyword's page rank etc I don't think would justify that cost. Maybe I'm wrong but that's as far as I can tell, seemingly right. IF it were the set amount listed per domain, it would probably be worth it in my opinion

read post 34 in that thread, kind of affects our market.

The post was relating to a very old bug that was never properly submitted through our system, yet a customer felt the need to call us out on it and tell everyone our service sucks. Considering my full time job is essentially making customers happy, we didn't take to this very lightly.

That forum in general is something else! Made an old bloke like me blush. ;):D

Read their "Before you make that post"!

Ha ha!

Wickedfire is...well...wickedfire.

Another question:

As Rankings in Australia differ by State, can we select ranking data based on geo location data servers.

for example can we have ranks for NSW, QLD, VIC Google serps.

Clients are aware of the difference in rankings for each state I deal with.
