Hi all,

I know it is not specifically a DN question, but what is the common practice people are using for web hosting? I am interested to hear opinions, as I imagine some people out there have sites generating a few if any dollars per month, and just wondered what the cheapest 'safe' option for hosting was.

Cheers,

I'm not really sure I understand your question properly?

You have a few things thrown into one! What do you mean by "safe"?

Cheers, Ned

Sorry,

I guess really just what web hosting companies people choose to use. By safe I just mean that it does not fall over every 5 minutes, so has good uptime etc.

Crucial Paradigm, xHostSolutions, VentraIP & NetLogistics are a couple of great Australian hosts. I've used all of them and rarely have any issues.

I can absolutely recommend VentraIP. They are a sponsor here on DN Trade, but many of us use them (including me). Fantastic service and uptime. They also have huge discount offers now and then.

I also use AussieHost.com - (not .au). $16.95 a month gets you a great deal. They also offer a 30 day no risk, no hassles money back guarantee.

Im with Neddy on his recommendation, I use both VentraIP and AussieHost for my aussie hosting, while a very solid US based hosting I run with Steadfast.net.

I agree with the Neddy, Nova and Soj that VentraIP are very good.

We ran our sites on Hostgator for many years and also found them good. For $10 per month we never had a reason to complain at their value for money.

We decided we wanted our sites to be hosted locally, so we made the move to VentraIP about 6 months ago and have been very happy with them.

I'm definitely pro-VentraIP. They do offer great prices at pretty good prices. Is this for mini-sites? And therefore needing a reseller plan?
