How to setup quality parking pages for my domains

In order to best comply with AUDA's monetisation policy

4.3 In addition to their obligations under auDA Published Policies and the Registrant Agreement (domain name licence), domainers must comply with the following conditions of use:

a) the content on a monetised website must be related specifically and predominantly to the domain name; and

b) the domain name must not be, or incorporate, an entity name, personal name or brand name in existence at the time the domain name was registered
.

I am wondering who knows of some great (Free, if possible ) resources that I can use to create a quality domain parking page with relevant search links.

Alternatively, are there any web design companies that can make a parking page design template for a reasonable cost and assist me with creating the necessary scripts for the search links (I have no idea how those parking page search links work/are populated on the page) so I can use that template on all of my domains?

Thanks

Hi techmo - that's a really good "newbie" question. (And I don't mean that derogatorily). :)

We are going to be starting up a "newbie" sub-forum where we will try and list all things relevant to getting started
in domaining. This will include links to resources etc. This should be started within the week.

Just reading your profile again, and it says there that you have done some webdesign. What have you been using to
do these? Wordpress? Something else?

If so, you could easily create a parking page or minisite yourself.

Or, there are also members on here that can do it for you, but obviously there is a cost for that.

My limited experience in web design is limited mainly to basic, static WordPress/HTML sites.

My understanding of parking pages were that they use some sort of script to dynamically generate a search page and a list of links that are directly relevant to the domain name, or as configured by the website owner. That's why I wasn't sure if I would know to to create such a page.

Is my assumption about how a parking page is created correct?

Good to know about that noob section; will be most helpful :D

Until you build your site the easiest way to Monetise is to use someone like sedo.com fabulous moniker.com etc who's software ( should ) monetise your site in line to meet current monetisation criteria for AUDA rules

Takes 5 minutes to do and its free.

Ok, I'll give those a go. Thanks for that tip DomainNames, much appreciated.

Any recommended sites to link my parking to for PPC ads?

WhyPark

techmo - another alternative for parking is WhyPark.

I have previously had about 500 domains parked there, but have since moved to Fabulous.

But for someone starting out in domain parking, it is not a bad alternative.

You can choose to add your own Google AdSense account; or just rely on their monetization. (Fairly crap!).

But the great thing about WhyPark is that you can modify each template as much as you like - add keywords or your own content - or just rely on them to optimise for you.

They have a free account, a $10/month account, and a $25 / month account.

Have a look here: http://www.whypark.com/domain-parking.htm

Not as good as your own minisite or website - but it is an easy alternative. And provided your kewords are correct, you will have automated relevant content that generally complies with auDA expectations.

Thanks for the recommendation Neddy. Why did you move to Fabulous? Do they have better parking pages and relevant links?

I was just going through Sedo's parking page options and discovered that keywords and links can be modified - which of the parking services have you found to provide the most relevant links that satisfies AUDA? Is Sedo ok for that?

Thanks

Fabulous caters for larger portfolios - and have minimum portfolio requirements.

If you're starting out, try Sedo or WhyPark if you want free.

Most important thing is to experiment - and have fun. Do a split test perhaps. Put a domain with WhyPark and one with Sedo - see what works best for you.

There are lots of other alternatives out there.

Okay, sound advice. And yes, the free part certainly sounds while I get my feet firmly planted in this very interesting field.

Any highly recommended domaining (I.e. not parking, but domaining-related, advice, news, research, etc.) sites I should check out?

Sedo's example parking site does not seem to have such relevant links to Free Fone Tones.

http://sedoparking.com/freefonetones.com

Do DN Trade members think that site satsifies AUDA's requirements for revelancy?
Yes , it seems to comply
Unfortunately sedo only pays about 20 cents a year per 100,000 visitors
( never spoil a good story with the truth )
Sedo is great for selling names though
Here is a list I complied a couple of year s ago on PPC
Let me know what works

Fantastic, thanks for the advice Honan and Rythm.

And I 2nd Rythm's question in which service provides the best return.

PPC revenue is really a side-issue anyway, it's more important that I get my parking pages setup ASAP - it would be good if someone knew of a good parking service that provides decent return; that would just enhance the whole thing.

Thanks all for your help! Much appreciated.
