Would appreciate some ball park figures as to what you believe the value of 'youbook.com.au' would be?

Not much because if its a social site you want to use Facebook has targeted many social sites with "book" in the url in the past - http://mashable.com/2010/08/25/facebook-teachbook-lawsuit/

Following your logic behind the purchase it should be worth at least the combined value of youtube.com.au and facebook.com.au.

youbook makes no sense and yeah facebook has been taking anything with book in it youtube are also trigger happy

it has no real value unless you give it some direction by developing it, as just a blank shell i agree with the above comments

thanks for your comments - all very valid.

I do wish to purchase it however for a direct booking agency service im looking to launch for customers to book entertainers / services direct to save on booking agency commissions - so in reply to your comments it does not relate to a social website whatsoever.

In saying this - what would you suggest may maximum purchase offer price should be???

tough market, unless you are some kind of superhero in that industry + know how to program or have an endless bank account then dip out now.

if thats your idea then go hunt a better name.

It isn't worth anything, look for a similar names for reg fee. If you must have it then just keep in mind this is more like buying pizzas than gold coins in terms of its actual value.

plenty of better names for $1200 that's approx 50 domains

"bookentertainmentonline.com.au" is avaliable

most likely plenty of other shorter domains

like ubook.net.au

It depends how badly you want it...

If you are confident in being able to build the business and you love this particular name, then $1,200 is money well spent.

But if you are just speculating, it's worth bugger all.
