Today's Drops

Hi All,

Just to confirm, there will be no purge today sue to Labour Day in Victoria being 2 years & 31 days ago. Sorry we could not advise this earlier - there was some confusion from the registry as to whether there would be a purge today.

These sort of hiccups should be a thing of the past once the new drop system takes place in a couple of weeks.

What this means is it will be a big day tomorrow!

Hello David,

If you don't mind me correcting you: there are actually no drops today because the registry did not run the expired domain process just this last Victorian Labour Day. Labour Day 2 Years and 31 had nothing to do with today's event (or lack of). Actually Labour Day weekend is always on a Monday, so the date changes every year.

Not running the expired domain script has an adverse affect 30+1 days after a domain's expiry. This has always affected domain drops 31 days after public holidays.

Good news is that it will no longer matter after the DNRS Update April 18.

Ah yes, it's Melbourne Cup day, the sneaky extra one.

Public Holidays are crazy looking at it. Eg WA have a different Queen's Birthday pub hol as the rest of us. NT have a 'Picnic Day'

VIC Labour Day is also a public holiday for ACT but is actually 'Canberra Day'.
