i've been thinking today about how i have always felt and i stated this to gavin when he was a director, that supply and demand need to realise that they need each other.

whats going on now is really not good for the industry, my daughters school assignment book is "hunger games" and i just laughed as its soooooooooo auda right now.

what i think we need to do is have a sit down, supply with demand, just a few of us and REALLY get to understand each others motivations and concerns instead of posting like its a Wimbledon final. we need to understand the next 5-10years .

most importantly auda will not be invited to this meeting.

auda may be the governing body but i run my business and so do you so whatever and whoever i wish to talk to now is my business.

hopefully a session could actually provide some clarity...........or fail, but i think its worth a go.

i think it really needs to be done PRIOR to the next board meeting 17th september so if we come to some common ground it could be presented. this is not a white flag, more an olive branch, this is what i have said from day one that i am all about the positives of .au

we could skype anyone outside of melbourne , i suggest just 4 each , i'm not going to mention names of who on supply would be involved but you have an organisation of registrars so leave it up to you.

i'll contact a few supply in case you don't read this.

i look forward to updating this thread to say a meeting will happen.

No it's not. The auDA marketing fund is not being contributed to this. Please speak the facts, and only if you know them.

I thought you said Goodbye and you where not posting anymore on dntrade?

Please disclose here how the marketing funds works for your company
    1. Do you receive marketing funds?
    2. Do you receive any rebates?
    3. Do you need to lodge any marketing plans for approval to receive funds?

Where is the accountability and transparency of how this use of auDA funds is being managed?

Will the marketing fund recipients be disclosed on the auDA Annual Report broken down into who did what to get the money individually? Meaning what did Dreamscape do to get their money and how much did they get, What did Godaddy Do to get their money and how much...

"Adrian Kinderis, former CEO of AusRegistry, has questioned the suitability of auDA conducting these initiatives, rather than, say, the registry operator or secondary sellers, and said the lack of clarity of specific marketing and innovation initiatives is worrisome.

“When you ask them what they’ll spend the money on, they say ‘marketing and innovation’ and that’s as vague as an answer can get,” Kinderis told Internet Retailing."

Nope. None. We haven't made any application for funding yet.

I realise you may think it's as simple as asking for money and they dish it out, but it's not like that at all. We have some promotions in the works that we will definitely apply to use this money for, but we've been doing that for years with Neustar/AusRegistry along with basically every other registry operator.

No. Why would we receive funds from auDA? The previous marketing fund was administered by Neustar and had nothing to do with auDA.

    Yeah ok ;-)

There's $12 million getting spread across the registrars, you're expecting to get some of that gravy right slippery?
