Standard Listing Data

So I was just thinking about all the data you recently released about AMA and how successful it the various stats etc, and I was wondering today, do you guys collect or collate any data on improving the result of standard catalogue listings...

As I was wondering if there was any empirical evidence for things like:

Does having a buy price listed on NetFleet increase the number of offers/sales?

Or is leaving the price as Make Offer a better way of netting a sale?

Or does having a listed price increase the number of view or anything?

Or does having a description change anything?

Or does previous offers change anything?

Do domains that mention they also have website get increased views or offers?

etc

We sure do, there is

Does having a buy price listed on NetFleet increase the number of offers/sales?

Or is leaving the price as Make Offer a better way of netting a sale?
Overall 56% of the listings have target/buy now prices.

47% of the offers in the last 12 months had target/buy now prices
70% of sales in last 12 months had target/buy now prices.

So you have slightly weaker odds of getting an offer with a target price, but you have significantly higher odds of getting a sale with a target price.

Or does having a listed price increase the number of view or anything?
Having a listed price increases the average number of views by approximately 10%

Or does having a description change anything?
All the domains have descriptions so it is hard to judge this one on numbers.

Or does previous offers change anything?
58% of the sales had more than one offer.

Do domains that mention they also have website get increased views or offers?
5% of all listings are developed, 7.4% of sales are developed domains.

Interesting stats. Thanks for compiling them.

Any other interesting data?

Overall 56% of the listings have target/buy now prices.
Wow I find that amazing that the majority of people have actually put prices on their domains.

47% of the offers in the last 12 months had target/buy now prices
70% of sales in last 12 months had target/buy now prices.
Wow, that's quite a marked increase in sales by having a buy price.

Do you know how many of those sales were first offers that were for the target price itself?

Having a listed price increases the average number of views by approximately 10%
Interesting.

58% of the sales had more than one offer.
When you say more than one offer, do you mean they had more than one party making an offer. Or do you just mean that there was at least some negotiating/haggling?

I don't know if I have ever sold a domain without some negotiating.

Something else I was recently wondering is if you had any data on if any of your promoition positions and if they were particularly successful at generating sales?

1. Spotlight Domain Listing
2. Featured Category Listing
3. Featured Search Listing

We don't have this info easily at hand I'm afraid.

We'll release more stats and info on the site in due course though

Cheers
