On Domainer today, I've written a comprehensive article about how foreign residents can legitimately register any number of Aussie domains.

It's easier than you think - and there are great benefits all round. I speak from experience. ;)

Erhan Karabardak had written an article about this back in 2011, and so I touched base with him yesterday to let him know that I intended to write an article on the subject. He very kindly updated his own article last night. This is a great resource - my advice would be to bookmark it.

A rising tide floats all boats.

Maybe Fairfax / OMG should have looked offshore to sell their domain name portfolio and the business entities that owned the names. It could have generated a substantial amount for Fairfax shareholders and recoup the investment and years of massive renewal fees.

Plenty of major foreign investors or companies would really love such an opportunity to get into the Australian market and also develop the names into individual businesses themselves probably.

What you need to consider is that 90 to 99% of the OMG portfolio are worthless or close to worthless.
