I moved my domains from Sedo to RM about a week ago and something interesting is happening. I've had 60 visits to the sites in the 5 days. But zero clicks. Sedo used to give me less visits.. but more clicks. What am i missing here?
cheers
todd

I used Sedo parking a few years ago and it wasn't great. I haven't used other providers so I can't comment on Rook.

I think in most cases these days, it's better to have your domain pointed at a 'for sale' page. Not many portfolios have a lot of domains that make decent money from parking, so you're usually better off trying to increase your odds of getting a sale (i.e. clearly showing that the domain is for sale and facilitating an instant purchase).

Most of my .com domains (the ones I would sell) are forwarded to a 'for sale' page of some description. In many cases it's actually the Sedo purchase page for the domain.

For my .com.au domains, I looked at the parking services on offer and nothing really grabbed me, so I designed my own platform instead.

Update

Just an update on this. I've now gone past 100 visitors, and still sitting on zero clicks. It's just getting silly now, and they don't reply to emails. Very disappointed.

Demonoid - don't think im ready to start my own platform - but it's something i might work towards.

Can anyone recommend a half decent parking company please?

100 visits is not a high enough sample to get a statistically significant result from plus id doubt many parking pages have a 1% click through rate on ads or higher especially with bots etc. adding to the number of 'visitors'.

Look for other ways to monetise your domains or start buying domains with good SEO strength (high quality backlinks) or brand value which will earn more from parking.

Get an above.com account and rotate your domains through the various monetisation platforms - voodoo.com, bodis.com, domainnamesales.com, Sedo.com, rookmedia.net. I don't believe any of these platforms has entry criteria. You may also want to try Fabulous.com :) - but there is a requirement to have certain amount of domains / income to qualify.

Thanks Andrews - I'll check them out! :)

Duncan - per my first post, on Sedo, I had a 51.22 ctr. From the forums i've been trawling through, this doesn't appear out of the ordinary. Some people get 80+ ctr. 1 percent suggests pretty niche domains.

A higher CTR may be an indicator of more relevant ads being served...

Hi Tassie SEO

Sorry for the delay on this. Please send me an email to simon@rookmedia.net and I will check out the account right away. It could be a number of reasons causing this to happen but I am sure we'll bring it up to speed

If anyone else needs any help with their Rookmedia accounts please feel free to contact me directly
