Sedo and Aussie domains

I recently applied to list a 4L generic .com.au domain on Sedo's Great Domain auctions, and I got this response!

Unfortunately, we are not able to put it in Greatdomains.com. With .com.au the transfer is not very easy. Buyers have to have a business address in Australia. This is the reason why we are not able to market it.
What a bugger.

They don't mind you listing AU domains for general sale - I have had some there for a while now - seems to be an anomaly (automated system versus manual vetting for GreatDomains)

funny reply from a German company dealing in .de domains which have similar restrictions

I don't think there is any issues with .de transfers, and many registrars support a proxy type name for the admin-c details. They can also be owned by individuals without business registrations from what I know of it. So the only real issue is the admin-c requirement which can be overcome for a small fee.

.com.au has a much higher level of red tape in my view. Lot of non German's own .de, how many non Australians own .com.au's?

I suspect they may have had issues before with ineligible persons winning the auction and being unable to complete. The fact is 99% of Sedo's visitors wouldn't have an ABN or TM etc...
