Hungry Jack’s Whopper Breaks Scoopon Records

Scoopon did a "Whopper" promotion yesterday for $2 - and they sold over 400,000 vouchers. It was so busy, it crashed their site for a while.

I see they are running it again today.

They claim Hungry Jacks as the first fast food outlet. Subway have had deals before on Grab One.

After two days of bargain burger mania, Hungry Jack’s has offloaded more than 650,000 discount vouchers through daily deal website Scoopon.

In a result that will make dieticians recoil in horror, fast food lovers have snapped up $1.3 million of vouchers in under 48 hours.

Errrr maybe it was me but the mathematics of the deal seemed kind of fraudulent.

You had to pay $2 for the voucher on the on the scoopon site......then you as well had to pay $2 in store. That's a total of $4 for a whopper and a fries.

Last time I went into a hungry jacks I think it was 6$ for a regular whopper meal......which includes a drink as well.

I think the 76% saving claimed was a bit off.

I know someone who said they ordered 5 but didn't enter any payment information. The vouchers won't be sent until the 20th apparently.
