Unfortunately clients are usually very reluctant to press the button on a groundless threats claim due to cost

Perhaps another topic to be includes in your auDA training / talk about RDNH and policy. It is common for lawyers and their clients to issue such threats to try and bully domain name owners as the first step citing a trademark.

Years ago I know of a .com.au matter in which an RDNH lawyer and RDNH complainant massive USA company lost not only their claim to a .com.au they also where deregistered by ASIC :). ...The executives from the USA lost their job at the company and ended up in Jail for fraud.

The moral of the story is even the biggest companies and lawyers can try scare tactics and threats to get a name and it can backfire seriously for the company and those involved. It was handled very well by an Australian lawyer and experienced domain name owner to keep the registrants name and put a nail in the coffin of that company. :)
