Registering domains from companies In Liquidation

I am thinking of buying a domain thats coming up for auction that is from a company that is now in liquidation and wont trade again.
I am thinking of buying it as its got some seo value and may get some traffic that would be useful for a real business in the same industry. On a newly built site i would put something to the effect that 'this site has nothing to do with xyz company' etc etc

The name of the domain is something like qantunlighting - my niche is the lighting industry.

Any potential legal issues etc etc?

Many thanks

Regards

Marty

I think you'd be fairly okay, provided that you know the business won't trade again. Presumably they're not looking to sell the IP if they've let the domain drop.

Would I purchase the domain of one of my main competitors if they went out of business? Yeah, I reckon I would...
