Supposing that ransomware continues to be a big and growing problem for Australia's 2.1 million businesses what could this domain be worth?

Cheers.

It is an ok name, but doesn't looking particularly commercial. Don't know why but it looks like advertisers aren't doing well with the term. Possibly the people searching for the term aren't people with a ransomware problem.

With the cost of a cor, red tape etc my gut feeling is it is still worth $0, it is better than most $0 names though.

That made me laugh. (pat on the back ... Nice try). I know what you mean Snoopy but I still chuckled.

Christmas cheer must be starting to inhabit Snoppy. There are some positive tones in that comment. Far more than the usual, (and deservedly), blunt assessments.

I'm struggling to think of a viable commercial aspect to this domain.

I don't see it making any money developed and I'm not sure you'll get much buyer interest either. Sorry but I don't see any value in this one.

Virus/malware removal software.

To me it's definitely not an appropriate brand match for that. AntiVirus/malware software is branded on the basis of trust, security and reliability - which would make that domain a branding nightmare, being the exact opposite of the image they want to portray.

Are consumers going to feel comfortable with a site called 'Ransom Ware', I'm not so sure.

Reg fees + 10-20%

Branding would be fine. The reason there is low search is because it's not a widely known term. Educating potential buyers would be a portion of the exercise.

Get the .com version. Build relevant software, test .au market, success, move to .com ?

My reason for buying this domain was the potential of the ransomware problem getting larger and a possible continuation of the media attention.

Is this based on the news items where some small businesses (primarily Dr Surgeries, but others have been affected) have been locked out of their systems with passwords changed unless they pay a ransom to supply the new password or revert back to original?

I can see the demand to be there for it, but not sure about the domain name. I would likely go with a domain that specialises in recovery from these infiltrations 'RansomwareRecovery.com.au?' as well as probably several other variants. The prevention side of it would be covered by antivirus/spyware etc, the market you'd be looking at is the cleanup after the event which would narrow down the posibilities....In saying that though...an antivirus company could become interested as preventative measure marketing position.

Just my personal veiws.
