What are everyone's opinions on them? DO they rank well?

What about if they are used for commerical sites? (affiliate).

Is the whole "not for profit organisation" thing enforced? Strictly?

AUDA will be on your back as soon as someone notices any .org not complaint with eligibility rules.

auDA do enforce their rules. It is simply not a good idea to try and get around things. Not only do you stand to have a domain taken off you, but you could be in line for a complete audit of your portfolio. Seriously.

http://www.auda.org.au/policies/auda-2008-05/

4.1 It is the responsibility of auDA to preserve the integrity of the .au domain by ensuring that the policy rules are applied correctly and enforced as necessary. auDA reserves the right to revoke any domain name licence that has been granted, or subsequently held, in breach of the relevant policy rules.

Ah ok - yeah I've seen a few of them around that are clearly affiliate sites so was wondering if it was enforced.

Thanks for the info.
