Just spoke with GoDaddy and they confirmed they do not bother to sell the .nz domain name extension at all..
They only registered their own name GoDaddy.nz for Defensive Registration purposes and they just url forward it to their https://nz.godaddy.com domain name.
Type in Google.nz also and see what happens! Then type in Google.co.nz
Which domain name extension is Google using and why? https://www.seroundtable.com/google-new-tld-myth-14878.html
If the shorter direct registration .nz was so great and better wouldn't they be using it and GoDaddy selling it?
Have a think about this and look at the real stats of New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong, United Kingdom... Free registration promotions to pump up and mislead people on the registration numbers, Forced Registrar defensive registrations without the Domain Name Registrant Consumer approvals..https://www.theregister.co.uk/2017/...outraged_at_automatic_uk_domain_registration/
The .HK shorther Direct Registration option numbers have more than halved in the last 2 years! The .hk is open to anyone in the world with no local presence requirements yet it is failing miserably now!( also important to note the only spikes of registrations was when they where given away FREE in promotions to try and pump up the stats) https://www.hkirc.hk/content.jsp?id=77#!/&in=/aboutHK/registration_statistics_hkirc.jsp
