I have recently been given a chance to release this domain.

Wondering what an good start, reserve & sell price might be.

Nobody mentioned "non-profit charitable organization" which kinda means you knew the requirements to register the .org.au domain all along.

Which really puts up a red flag for anyone wanting to deal with you.

After the feedback I got and the AUDA abbreviation was said I looked it up and read more information about the regulations.

I'm only new in looking into .au domains...
I'm sure not everyone know the regulations at their first go.

But to register one of these your ABN must be checked to be that of an organisation. At least it has been when i've registered a few for my clients.

Putting the rules aside for a moment, I'd still appraise this at close to zero.

Just because it's similar to one of the biggest sites in Australia doesn't mean it's worth anything.

I would guess Godaddy have been dropping the ball as far as checking stuff with these .org.au registrations.

Exactly, one of my Former clients registered an .org.au through them when I refused to do it for him.
They only appear to check that the supplied ABN is a valid ABN, not if the ABN holder is eligible.

Free advice is usually worth what you pay for it.
Here is my free advice
Ask the registrar if they can immediately delete the domain name because you made a mistake registering it and you were not eligible to register it.
State that you do not expect any refund.
