my first .net.au

Lots of mixed responses around here regarding the .net.au's so I thought I would put one up and see what happens. I have worked with .net.au's before but only ever on existing sites for clients, so it's going to be interesting to see how it unfolds.

The site is hot air balloon. It's got a bit of content but could do with some more.

Any feedback would be appreciated. Also I'll report back on how it ranks.. it's only just been indexed.

I really like it - it looks like a "real" site rather than a made for advertising only site - which I personally much prefer (although there are arguements for both of course).

One thiny thing I noticed is that on my screen in IE8 the "browse" at top right is out of alignment - may be worth checking.

Looks really good, very professional, and should convert pretty well. Lets just hope you rank well in the search engines.

One thing I noticed, your Browse All button just links you back to the same page.

Looks like you have href="" rather than href="/"

Other than that, excellent looking site!

The site looks really professional. I was just wondering how its ranking in the search engines these days now that it's been indexed for a while?

It took a few months to gain traction, but since then it's getting decent long tail traffic and growing steadily. Definately feels like it's taken longer than a .com.au to get going.

It's not ranking very well for the most competitive terms, but it does do better in some areas than others so I know what where the work needs to be done.

CTR, bounce rate etc are all excellent so that must be helping it grow.

TBH I've been pretty lazy with the site since it went live in terms of content and link building because I moved onto the next project... and there are many established sites above me but I do plan on giving it some TLC soon.

I did make a few one page sites to give it a hand, like hot air ballooning yarra valley which I will turn into mini sites soonish and brought an established domain that dropped which had a good link profile (definate boost in rankings resulted).

Has not deterred me from developing .net.au sites, I picked up www.rockclimbing.net.au on DROP the other day and I have a few other related .com.au & .net.au domains in the experience/gift day market that I will be rolling out on the one platform to cut dev time and upkeep.

re: logo. imho doesn't seem to be the right fit for the keyword. Logo makes me think more of mountain climbing.

Thanks for the feedback, I think it looks nice, but I agree with you. Took about 20 min and just wanted to get something up, will revisit when I design the frontend

It looks nice most definitely, (and fantastic considering you made it in 20 mins!) but I'd go for a silhouette of a guy climbing indoor/outdoor.

I like this site its pretty cool but 3 quick SEO opportunities I noticed from my tool bar -

* Robots.txt (missing)
* XML sitemaps (missing)
* www resolve (missing)
